About

Electronics, programming and retro computing, written by Violet Pixels to be understood on the first read.

Braindumps is where Violet Pixels writes down the things it keeps explaining: how a resistor works, why “safely remove” still matters, what the first shoot-em-up was, and how to build a small tool in a few lines of code. It started in 2023 as a place to put notes so they would not be lost, and turned into a blog when other people started reading them.

The articles are written to be understood on the first read. Where there is maths, it is shown. Where there is code, you can copy it and it works. The browser tools are free to use and free to take.

Who writes it

Violet Pixels is a web design, hosting and software business in Kent, run by Steve. The blog is the hobby end of the same interest: electronics on the bench, old computers on the desk, and code for its own sake.
